Moving south...

After almost 14 years in North Africa (Barcelona), I eventually decided to move to South Africa (Johannesburg). Considering that I wouldn´t really miss anything about Barcelona except for Barça and a French girl, it was a relatively easy decision.

I actually don´t see that many differences. There are more black people here. The cats are bigger. They speak languages, not a dialect. They don´t know how to play football. They drive on the wrong side. But that´s about it...oh no, it´s dirt cheap here!

An interesting fact I found is that there are roughly 10 million trees in Joburg. Considering that the population, including the surrounding areas, is about 10 million people, this means 1 tree per person! Comparing this to Barcelona, with 150,000 trees and a population between 3 and 5 million people, depending on the areas you include, this is a clear win for Joburg!

Cheers,

Marc
